OUR MISSION STATEMENT

in

The mission of Gentle Beginnings Birth Center is to provide mothers and infants with a sensitive, safe and cost effective program of care designed in the wellness model of pregnancy and birth.

This center will be a family-centered care facility for healthy women before, during and after normal pregnancy, labor and birth.  Our mission is to provide a warm haven where babies can be born at their own pace among family, and friends, with emergency back-up facilities at their disposal.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

in

We deliver babies and build families.

We believe every family has the right to cost effective, quality health care.

We believe every person has a right to participate in the decision making process for their health.

We believe that every person should be treated with dignity and respect.

We believe that “Children are a gift of the Lord”. (Psalm 127:3)

We believe that our Lord made a woman’s body to carry and birth babies.

We believe in preventative care, rather than interventive care.

THE BENEFITS

in

So far, the largest and most complete study on the comparison of hospital birth outcomes to that of homebirth outcomes was done by Dr. Lewis Mehl and associates in 1976. In the study, 1046 homebirths were compared with 1046 hospital births of equivalent populations in the United States. For each home-birth patient, a hospital-birth patient was matched for age, length of gestation, parity (number of pregnancies), risk factor score, education and socio-economic status, race, presentation of the baby and individual major risk factors.

Welcome to Gentle Beginnings Birth Center.  We are pleased and honored that you have decided to use our services.  As our name says you and your baby will be treated with the most gentle personal care available anywhere!  We believe that God has made your body to birth this baby and are glad that you have chosen our beautiful facility to do it.

Here is some answers to some common questions about the care you will receive from us.

What is a Birth Center?

This Birth Center’s care is based on the simple and powerful belief that God made your body to birth babies and that it is a normal process in the lives of women and their families.  You and your baby are the focus of our gentle and personal care.  It is important to us that you feel empowered to make decisions about your care.  Please feel free to ask questions at your visit.  Some women find that bringing a list of questions they have written down as they think of them, helps them to remember all that they want to ask when they are in their appointment.
